Norfolk House | Dedham, MA
Workforce Housing Addressing a Critical Island Need to House the Year Round Workforce
Oxbow Partners LLC, Developer/Investor
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Built in 1801, the iconic Norfolk House served originally as an inn for travelers along the main stagecoach route out of Boston and was visited by many dignitaries, including Presidents Lincoln, Jackson, and Adams. In 1905, it was converted to a majestic single family home, designed by renowned architect Frank Chateau Brown. It remained this way until the current conversion to six elegant residential apartments began in 2015. The transformation of Norfolk House combines 19th century Federalist and Colonial Revival splendor and style with the best of modern design and comfort in mind.
The Norfolk House Residences is part of the resurgence of Dedham Square steps away from Dedham’s Community Theater, main library, new fine restaurants, Blue Bunny/Mocha Java, and the Community House.
